Rodney, having born in Happy Tree Town and as a kid having a passion for building things, began to work at the age of 13 as a construction worker, supervised by his now best friend Handy.
He formerly had an on-and-off relationship with Petunia, and nowdays when she is with Nifty, each time they see, she feels awkward and still thinks he loves her, which is true. That love became an obssession, until he met Dianne, a cousin of Flippy, whom he dated (But disliked). After an altercation with the Tiger army and after seeing Dianne at the verge of death, he proclaimed his love for her and they became a couple (This is on the future).
Rodney rarely engages in fistcuffs when it's time to fight, and when he does so, he has some tricks onder his sleeve to prove himself he can defend himself, but some of them fail.
