Description
This picture shares a main character in my first novel "The Dreamer's Nights," and is the cover image of that book. Anya stands on a precipice contemplating life, while the sun sets again. From night to night, she never sees the daytime.
This was actually the second cover picture. The first represented a much darker version of the novel than it turned out to be. The original painting is actually titled "The Dreamer's Nights," and you can find it in my collections. Warning, it's kinda graphic and dark. Until I did the Stones painting, this was far and away judged to be the best thing I'd painted. I really just wanted to try a different way to do visible light sources.
As I'm self-taught, a lot of my paintings' original intentions were to practice different techniques. Anya started as a sunset where I'd follow the light source in rays cast along the grasses. rather than a simple universal light that chooses a direction and gets darker, the farther away you go.
