Description
I'm so pumped for Season 4 I had to make a picture of the legendary Dexter!I was trying for a nice, simple look to the picture. Plus I wanted to try out some new techniques like reflections and shadowing to make it feel like there's more that isn't seen!
I'm starting to figure out making things look distant, by fading it off a bit or making it lighter.. I'm going to use this for alot of future works..
If your not a fan of the series of Dexter, YOU SHOULD BE
It's so awesome, I really can't wait for season 4 to start! The first episode was too good!Enjoy

This is wondrous work, your rendition of Dexter is so... perfect. The moment I saw the thumbnail I knew EXACTLY who he was, without looking at the title.
But what I truly love about this is your immaculate attention to detail. The shading looks so realistic, which is a great contrast to the "comic-booky" feel of the art itself. And the reflection on the window is jaw-droppingly beautiful.

Well i luv this the etxtures and the lights and and the reflexion are awsome... colours, shadows everything... just one thing his face doesnt look much like dexters... the rest is stylish

The pic is very well done, the colors are great and I love the shadows and highlights. Lovely detail on the background as well.
My only complaint is that he doesn't really look like the character. He looks too much like your average comic book superhero, very buff and sharp-featured. The number of wrinkles on his face makes him look much older than he is in the series (of course you could argue this is Dexter in his later years). The lopsided smile is good, I think it's mainly the eyes that make him look so different. You could try making them bigger, softer or to make his eyebrows a little lighter. Personally, what I think is most characterizing about Dexter is that he always seems to hover somewhere between sadistic and carefree. Here he just looks mostly evil. I think you should try to reach for a more nuanced expression. Raising the eyebrows a smidgeon might do the trick, so that they're turned more upwards rather than downwards.
Still a beautifully done picture, nice to see such lovingly crafted Dexter fan art.
