I like this, it reminds me of Godard's "olive" art somewhat.
Its very rich, I love your style.

i do pastel but i'm learning paint soon, so i really have no idea what kind of work goes into a painting, but if its like getting details in in a pastel peice, you, are crazy. i can hardly take a 24x36 inch pastel on....

Yes I do a photo session with the models. I paint wierd times and they have their own schedules, so it works out best this way.

I can understand that I prefer work in the evenings but I live too far away from the Academy to do so. However soon i'll be moving and I'll be 5 minutes away so I can work till closing time (10 in the evening) loverly

Working from photos is a big no no. I'm sure every professor at Academy would frown upon it. All of my old art professors frowned upon it as well. It you're not careful the image can look very flat and lifeless. If you are carefull about the photographic process, you can limit some of those issues.

Well I guess that's the challenge, to not make the painting look flat. If you've got a decent photocamera it won't happen in the first place. But the point in our classes were to paint using certain colors, contrasts and how to interpret certain shades of light and darkness and such. Besides, i'm going to do communication design (graphic design) anyway so whatever the arts pro's tell me is fine with me.
