Description This started out as a sketch for practice, but I decided to turn it into a more finished pic. I wanted to draw a heroic and gritty Capt. America fighting a rougher version of his old enemies (those bright green and yellow Hydra boys). I made up this army of shocktroopers... each wearing a gas mask painted like a red skull.

(I wanna pile on some more baddies and finish out a big BV-238 flying overhead, but I probably won't...it's all just for fun. Hope you enjoy!)

Thank you! Believe it or not it wasn't really very movie inspired. I saw the WWII helmet and liked the more practical/functional design of the stenciled wings. That was the inspiration for my approach.

I wanted Cap to look really heavy - hard to move - and if he hits you, it feels like a sledge hammer. That's why I lit him like a big statue.
