Story in short:
She comes to Ponyville to start a new life. She hid herself because of her injury. Though she receives a warm welcome, it's met with sad indifference. Though she is a nice pony, she is too afraid to make friends after what happened. She lost her wing when she sacrificed it to save her friend Starry Night, but her friend let her down crushing her spirit and hasn't seen her since. She does finally warm up and decide to give friendship another go, which ended in her giving up her other wing for Twilight. Though she's now a wingless pony, she still accepts the mane 6 as her closest friends. Despite being considered an Earth pony, she couldn't be happier with a great home and new friends. Athough she's still sad about not being able to fly, which was her passion, Twilight seems to think about it. Princess Celestia eventually heard her story and learned forgiveness and the first friend comes back. Celestia decides to grant StormSurge her wings back, but gave her more than just regular wings.

*Normane is the city Storm is from. The name comes form Norman Oklahoma which is where noaa(or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) HQ is. Since I wanted a pony that is associates with weather, that's where I thought of first. xD
