Description
Looking at the theme of 'peeling back the layers', i decided to look at the interior and exterior of clocks for inspiration. The geometric style combined with the feminine marks and surfaces really provoked me into looking intensley on a range of clock faces and styles for design purposes. The screenprint above was developed by taking a line drawing i created of an old victorian pocket watch of my grandpa's and enlarging it in size, eventually leading to the exposure of a screenprint. The mixed media idea came from experimenting with a wide range of materials and paper to print on and finally thought that the bright colours of the batik worked perfectly together with the black ink that i used.Related content

Very cool. The contrast between the wild washy colours and the detailed line drawing makes for a very unique piece!
