Description
It bathed in the laquer of no surprise, followed behind like a motherless child.
Flowers bloomed in the musty air.
Outside peered in through the window
with the shallow, dead stare
of a girl who just recognized.
Too often life does not get better sooner.
The sun replaced the wool night sky
and the stars my mother had sewn into it.
Delicate as ivory buttons,
they maliciously pricked my fingertips
as I carried them to her.

There is a lot of nice imagery in this. I especially liked the "wool night sky."
