Harry Lange’s “dragonfly” concept for the Discovery One from 2001: A Space Odyssey, modeled by me. Rendered in Bryce. I should probably have made the reactor shield a bit flatter, but ah well. Also, I wish I knew what font Mr Lange had in mind for the lettering on the tanks. In his drawings the "D" looks like a backwards 6.Related content

Beautifully well executed! I've always had a great deal of fondness for this design, and it IS the one described by Arthur C. Clarke in the book.
