Description Imported into Bryce.
I'm thinking of Space: 1999 and how the Eagles look plausible, but aren't - they have artificial gravity! They can fly in an atmosphere! Where are the fuel tanks??
Might still add some details here and there. Maybe some panels on the airlock door?

Beautiful design, would love to see commander Koenig flying one of them!

Given the airlock size, this ship seems to be bigger than the 1999 Eagles.
What would be its approximate size and mass, just to get an idea?

Hiya- well, I was thinking that the top sphere is four decks - the cockpit at the top, then below that crew quarters, then where the ring of windows is, a big circular very 1970s lounge area with brightly-coloured soft furnishings and a conversation pit , then labs.
There's a tunnel going through the neck that leads down to a cylindrical ready-room with spacesuit lockers, and the two airlocks lead out from that, 180 degrees apart.

So the top sphere would be, what? forty or fifty feet in diameter? And the whole thing over a hundred foot.

I don't think the internal arrangement makes a lot of sense but that's true of a lot of ships including the Discovery and the Eagles. I wanted to make something that looks superficially plausible, but isn't when you think about it. So in my head, like the Eagles, its got artificial gravity, etc

Ahh, these imperial units!
So the overall length would be 30+ m, with the top sphere around 15 m diameter.
Ample space for a lounge area to celebrate 1970s space disco parties.

Yeah, I think you've got the Gerry Anderson vibe going beautifully. Probably some panels on the airlock would not go amiss.
