Description
Character design for a future project that me and have been working on. Several years ago, I wrote and drew a webomic called Justice Heroes. You could probably still find it if you looked hard enough. But some stuff happened, and I only ever finished about ten comic strips before it was discontinued. The series is pretty much cancelled, but we intend to recycle some of the characters and concepts from it.

I don't want to give away the particulars of the plot or setting, so I'm gonna keep my critique based solely on character design and Rich's archetype, that of the egotistical metrosexual superhero.
That said, I think the scarf just makes him look gay. I'm not saying that in a negative way, either. I'm progressive, as you know, and I'm all for the idea of turning him into a homosexual protagonist, if that's where you wanna take him. But for me, i didn't see Rich as a homosexual. I saw him as the "Barney" type of male (from How I met your Mother). The suit itself looks sleek and symmetrical. I actually like this costume better than the one I submitted. Though for me the best parts of my costume were those sky blue areas with almost computer chip designs in them. I'd like to see that merges with this outfit--sans scarf. Cos again, he looks homosexual. Not metrosexual.
We have a gay dude reaffirming this at both ends (haha). Fabby said basically the same thing about both of our designs, which suggests that we need to find a happy medium to bring Rich back into his masculinity. You know what I mean?
As far as the hair goes, I'm honestly divided. On one hand, I like the perfectness of your hair style. Plus, he's blond and almost Aryan, given his backstory, which is pretty cool in my book. I kinda wanna see him blond (not bleach blond) with that Zak Efron haircut I gave him. I dunno, man... I'm kinda already getting used to Rick with medium style hair. It's different. I'd expect him to have the hair style you gave him. For my part, I wanna add realism to the mix, so that's what I'm fighting for on this one. We should try giving him medium length dirty blond hair and see where that takes us.
If you don't mind, I'd like to use your design as a template for another costume design for Rich... XD

But of course! The whole idea, after all, was for us to both to do our own things, then find the elements we liked best from either or both. I tried to keep that in mind while I was doing this one, actually. I really liked the look of yours, but I tried not to let it influence this design and instead went with what I was orginally thinking of for Rich.
The scarf is something I wasn't sure about, and I'm still not. I was really tempted to give him a cape at first (the idea being that he's the ONLY one who wears a cape, and everyone makes fun of him for it), but then I thought maybe a scarf. I was thinking more of an 80s, Miami Vice influence...although, I guess now that I think of it, that does have pretty homosexual undertones in and of itself.

Oh, and just to follow up on our convo from last night, Capn Metro so cant have a letterman jacket... due to it literally revealing his secret identity! Haha! What if he had a Rock Howard thing going on instead, but make the coat more futuristic to make it less girly?

Well, letterman jackets aren't personalized (at least, they're not supposed to be), so it wouldn't actually reveal his secret I.D., but it would pretty seriously narrow it down. But yeah, I like the idea of a Rock Howard sort of style.

*LOL* Well, the later is closer to the truth, actually. He calls himself Captain Metro because he's the self-proclaimed champion of a city called Metropia. Everyone else calls him Captain Metro, though, because they think it's short for Captain Metrosexual.
