Description
It's been just over ten months since the last time I drewΒ Korra . In that time, I've really honed my technique and learned a lot about digital art. I'm still a far cry from some of the amazing artists I see on this site all the time, but I'm still pretty pleased with my progress. As I've said before, I regard Korra as being on of the best strong feminine role models. It just sort of made sense to mix her in a bit with one of the most iconic female characters of all time, Wonder Woman. That's really all I've got.

Apparently, I wasn't the only one who thought so. I actually did a search for "Korra Wonder Woman" after posting this, and discovered I'm not even close to the first person to think of it. Oh well, it was still a lot of fun to work on.

Yws. Just, yes. This is amazing, and I just LOVE the way she looks!

Thanks. I was pretty pleased with the way it looks, although I was afraid she wouldn't be that recognizable as Korra... I REALLY like the shorter hairstyle she sports in Book 4, but I have to admit that the older Water Tribe hairstyle would have made her look more like, well, Korra.

I agree, but that's the whole point of the hair cut: to be less recognizable. Korra is definitely struggling to find herself again, and the makeover was part of that. Also, anyone who is a fan knows how Korra looks now

True dat. I think the haircut also represents Korra cutting ties with her former identity and trying to forge her own. Her previous hairstyle was very traditional for the Southern Water Tribe, and by abandoning it and her identity as the avatar (ie, pretending to be someone else in the underground bending matches), she's essentially trying to find herself.

Very deep and very true. My only complaint with it is that her hair turned out perfect when, in reality, girls should NOT try to cut their hair that way. It won't end well. Trust me.
Tried to do my hair as a kid. It ended with my mom having to cut a brush out of my hair.

*LOL* Yeah, it's a cool dramatic moment, but it is not a good idea in real life.

Um, can this just be the new Wonder Woman?

Speaking of "new Wonder Woman," I now regret not using the costume from the New 52, which is way better than this one. Then again, I suppose this is probably WW's most iconic costume, so maybe it was the right choice...
