I am not a 'gamer' so you will have to excuse my lack of knowledge around this character - what I do know is that it is a piece of great artwork, and that the character is a Sith Lord called 'Starkiller' from the Lucas Arts video game 'Star Wars: The Force Unleashed'Those of you that watch me, know that I like to 'mix-it-up' occasionally - and amongst the Sad Children and Celebrity drawings I will throw in a sci-fi/fan-art drawing, I really enjoy these as they pose very different drawing challenges than traditional portraits.
This is again A3 on Bristol Board Smooth, created with my usual arrangement of pencils (8B to 4H)

*THIS* wow, nice work. Just curious, did you use the 8B for that deep, dark color in the shoulders and torso? And if you also don't mind my asking, for these dark areas, what did you use for blending?

Yes it was a Faber Castell 8B 9000 series pencil, and a tortillion paper blender - however if you are trying to reach really deep blacks the best I have found is Steadler Mars Lumograph 8B

This is awesome, I wish that the Force Unleashed 2 was longer and had more depth to the story like the first game.

Thanks - the background was the easiest - took about 10 minutes, compared to a dozen or so hours for the rest of the drawing!

Brilliant drawing. Love the textures and the background particularly. Although Starkiller is not the most interesting Star Wars expanded universe character around, he certainly fit in well with the style of the video game. And this version of Starkiller is visually striking. This is truly a terrific piece, even better than the original reference work if I may be so bold.

How did you achieve the background? just erasing I guess?

Yeah that is correct, a 4H shading across the whole surface, then using a sharpened eraser to remove the graphite as required.

is the drawing that go more close to a fav, and for long time I thought give it to you. I didn't because I know you can do better than that. is a great job anyway: D

To be honest my friend, I would have been disappointed if you had faved this drawing, whilst I enjoyed drawing it, and I think it's a pretty good sci-fi fan art, I would much prefer a fave for a traditional portrait. I have a couple of good candidates that are nearly completed and I'm sure you will like these enough to consider them favourites
