Gosh, she's so pretty! ♥.♥ I looove how you did the hair! and the butterflies! I like how their main color is dark, since you normally see them with a light main color. Also, the lighting on her nose and around her eyes, as well as on her sleeve, rocks!
Do you normally draw in grayscale first and then apply color layers over it?

Nah, this was a first for me going grayscale. It was fun. it made me consider tone values and texture which i usually overlook when I paint directly in color.

Ohhh lucky you, that you liked it! I haaate painting in grayscale. LOL I've unfortunately had to do it four times - two I haven't uploaded, and the two others were only partially done that way, and because those parts had patterned fabrics, and I thought shading in grayscale and overlaying a flat layer with the pattern drawn in would be easier. Normally, for checking values while painting, I keep an all-black layer at the very top, set to Saturation mode, and toggle that on and off to check.
