The new issue of CHAMPION! Magazine is out, and now that their preview is up, I can finally show this- my favorite COMMISSION: IMPOSSIBLE feature yet: "Alien Vs. Predator on the Planet of the Apes".
All credit to my editor, Mike Cotton, for suggesting the idea for this one- it was ridiculously fun to write and draw. Aside from this "cover art", there's a whopping three pages of sequentials I made to go with this- and if ya wanna see them, ya gotta go to iTunes and download it for your iPad now. Also, as of this issue, we're expanding to Amazon Kindles, and I think maybe even some Android products.

Oh god, that's nostalgic! The style of the gore on the little chestburster. I've seen similar gore before in a comic magazine that I used to look at when I was a kid. I love how the guts look all spaghetty like, like it's not blood squirting out, but chunks of juicy meat! Like it's a hell of a mess, almost like dough except it's gory!

The apes will wrestle the preds, the xenos will harvest all human hosts while they do, the apes will work with the preds to survive, and when they're all almost dead, the preds will blow everything up. XD
This looks great, don't know if a pred would be as strong as a gorilla, but it is still wonderful. Good job!

Amazing and totally awesome crossover - and I thought the Alien Nation/Planet of the Apes crossover was crazy! I really wanna read this now! Does Commission Impossible ever take suggestions for stuff? Cause if so I could always suggest the odd one for them.

Appreciate the offer, but we can't even get to all the ideas we've already thought up. The next two are already set in stone, and I've got one more of my own that I'm hoping to do. If the well ever runs dry though- maybe!

That's ok, there's probably a ton of ideas that the developers have and it's getting them all up. Plus I wouldn't know if certain areas would be frowned on like stuff of the 'Big Two' (Ie. DC and Marvel). And my ideas would probably be very fanboy'y (eg. Madame Vastra meets the 1898 League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ala ties to your recent pic). But if you do need suggestions let me know!

That's hilarious b/c the two you mentioned are the ones that WEREN'T my ideas. I was the one who suggested TALES OF THE INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.
The next one isn't very "geeky", though it does involve a cool TV show with a very loyal fanbase. The one after is one I thought up that DOES involve one of the Big Two. I asked my editor, but he seems to be cool with it, so it's moving forward. The magazine has a good relationship with Marvel and DC, and our stuff falls into a journalism/ parody area generally, so I think it's all good.
I'm more reluctant to touch Whoniverse-related subject matter, partially b/c I like having Commission Impossible as something that expands my portfolio beyond what I already do, but also b/c I'm so close to that and IDW actually does send me a paycheck once in a while (the same would go for Godzilla). Otherwise, I'm sure we already would've done one for DOCTOR WHO: THE TIME WAR.

Ha! Oh dear me! I haven't actually seen that film yet aside from Hitler's rant on YT but I'll try and give it a view at some point. Still, there's not been anything so far I have thought isn't cool yet, even if I don't know the show or thing so well.
Really, if I was to guess... X-Files? Warehouse 13? LOST? Oh, a LOST comic would kick ass. And yay for Marvel or DC'ness! I often wish the Big Two would be interested in doing crossovers again so I can read stuff like Dr Strange and Zatanna uniting to face Etrigan and Dormammu, the Green Lantern Corps and Guardians of the Galaxy combining to stop Thanos controlling the Black Lanterns or Spider-Man and Flash fighting the Rogues and Sinister Six!
In any case, nice to know that the Big Two are pretty reasonable when it comes to those things. Yeah, I often like to try and do stuff outside my comfort zones (so basically Who or Marvel) when it comes to fanfics. Would love there to be a Time War comics but I think it wouldn't be able to live up to people's expectations. Still if you guys wanna show a segment in CI that would be awesome.
