No problem- I loved what you guys did with him in the original comic, so he had to go in. Β I had fun with him, too- especially since he was breaking up the monotony of drawing so many "normal" companions. Β The scales took forever though!

I was going to bookmark this to look at in full later, and then five minutes later I was still staring at the screen randomly shouting things like "Destrii!"..."Chris and Roz!"..."Frobisher!"..."Wilf!"..."is that Iris' Panda friend trying to get in on things?"..."Ramsey!"..."Romana I and II!" I am also looking forward to the annotated version, although in the meantime I'm going to try to count off as many as I can and see how many I got right. Gorgeous work! Man, every time I think I know my "Doctor Who" you go and do something like this and remind me how much more I still have to learn. (Not a complaint - more to explore, lucky me!) You're going to have to watermark this to the hilt, I'm sure.

That's stalwart 8th Doctor companion Lucie Miller (mostly known from audio plays, but also mentioned on the TV show in Night of the Doctor).

That WOULD be the only one that's virtually impossible, as she's a literary character with no pre-existing visual ref and no particularly distinguishing featured mentioned in her one novel ("World Game", by Terrance Dicks). Β It's the latter-era 2nd Doctor's Time Lady companion, Serena. Β Most of the major literary companions have some kind of pre-existing offcial art- even if it's just a little promotional sketch in DWM (all of the 8th Doctor's companions do), but Serena doesn't have anything.
Do you have a link to the list? Β I'm really curious to see if you got 'em all right- I'll be seriously flattered if my takes on the literary characters were all definitive enough to be recognizable.

Yeah- the color issue with the 60s companions was more of an issue than I expected. Β There's color stills here and there, but I couldn't find anything for Ian and Barbara's Unearthly Child costumes (aside from the recreations in An Adventure in Space and Time), Vicki's Rescue outfit, or Polly's look from The War Machines/ The Smugglers.

Oh- y'know what? Β I get ticked off when people say I "forgot" this character or that (b/c 99 times out of 100, they were actually remembered, carefully considered, and not included for good reasons)... but I really DID forget the possibility of William Blake! I probably still would've left him out of this round though- many "one offs" didn't make the cut due to room (which is why Blake's fellow NA'ers Sherlock holmes and Ruby aren't here). Β There's several other real people who almost made it in- Shakespeare and Van Gogh were very, very close.Β
