this tool is called a mixer brush tool and is available only in photoshop cs5 if I remember correctly, these tools only work well with a tablet, by which to regulate the pressure of the pen. Try using this tool to see how it works .. any doubt just ask ...
and sorry for my bad English, I speak and write only the Portuguese and it still looks ... heheheh ^ ^
Thanks for visiting my youtube channel: D

dont worry about your english, i think its fine, actually my native language is spanish .
i have photoshop cs3, i got cs4 and it was so heavy for my computer, so i never got 5 because i thought it would be the same, anyways im planning to get a better computer with a better video card to be able to run these softwares properly
however in photoshop cs3, there is an option in the brush window where u can set your current brush to use 2 brush presets at a time, so maybe thats the same thing as the mixer, am i wrong?

So, do not know if you noticed but in the video I use photoshop cs3 and cs5 precisely why my computer can not handle running Photoshop CS5 with camtasia recording at the same time, hence the delay a great time to paint... I use the photoshop cs5 in my work.
but in photoshop cs3, the tool which in my opinion is almost the same as the mixer brush tool is the smudge tool, with some settings on the brush it is very good, both to mix colors and make hairs, tries to give it a worn, I think he's too good. : D
