Description
Drawing of SOOT SPARROW, the character that I created and played in the Thomas Dolby online Alternate Reality Game "The Floating City".She is standing in front of her tug, the "Miss Sakamoto", a reference to the lyrics of Thomas Dolby's popular hit song "She Blinded Me With Science".

I really love this piece - not just for the character design (which is wonderful - the "grease, sweat and ginger" line below fits perfectly!), but for the environment behind her as well. Β You really nailed that open-air-yet-slightly-grimy feel of a working seaport. Β The two elements are blended together wonderfully.
Out of curiosity, are you planning on entering this in 's "Fantasy Firsts" contest? Β There is a shortage of dark-skinned steampunkers (or is the Miss Sakamoto a diesel?) in the world, and I think this pic would fit in wonderfully.

Question; it looks like the rules require it to be something new, made for the contest. Would this image qualify?Β

Oops. Β Drat. Β My apologies! Β In order to qualify, images must be created after September 5. Β I saw this one after that date, and took it for a new post. Β I should have checked the date. Β
On the bright side, the contest will be going on through September 26 - so you have a couple weeks left, if you're thinking of producing any more art in the near future.

You just combined two elements that I love. Attractive Tomboys who can repair/fix engines and boats. Tug boats have a special soft spot for me. Soot Sparrow, would you take me as your first mate?. LOL. She probably smells like engine grease. Nice!. Sexy.
