The comic creators who came up with the SWITCHBOARD character haven't revealed the Switchman yet, so sorry, no pics of him yet!

I really must apologize to you for sending you all over the place thanking people for suggesting this to me for a DD. Turns out my four year old was fiddling with the file I keep all my DD suggestions in and because of that I credited the wrong suggester. These things happen. All is straightened out now though!
This really is a fantastic piece. It was such a joy getting to DD it. I love the strength in both the character and the colors. Gorgeous stuff!

Someone said it reminded them of adds for women during WWII, and I have to agree!
I love pin-ups done like this.
The ones with women so skinny it's unreal really bug me.

I really dig the old school war posters, as well as the old Russian Constructivists propaganda posters, so I suppose that's an inspiration.

Awesome, it finally made it to the DD page! I submitted this for a DD weeks ago, but it looks like someone had more pull than me about it. Oh well, it still made it and that's all that matters! You know I love your stuff, and this has a great Rosie the Riveter feel to it.

I guess there was a goof up, but now it shows you as the submitter.
Thanks very much, I got 183 messages in one day!

Awesome! I was upset that you weren't getting the exposure here you deserve, so what better way to get it to you than a DD?

Egads! It WAS you who suggested it! ~Phil--K got a hold of me and brought it to my attention that I credited the wrong suggester. Turns out my little boy got into my DD file and was erasing names and typing things where he shouldn't have been. I've fixed it though.

A little bit of background info on Switchboard...
Switchboard comes from a long line of mystically empowered warriors. Each generation is granted a fantastic weapon with which to defend and maintain mankind.
Her grandfather was considering what the USβs role in WWII should be when he recieced his incarnation of the weapon. In each generation, it changes to suit its weilder. For him, it was a strong lever, about 3 feet long, the kind that would be shoved into a switch-box in a rail yard. He found that the weapon had the ability to alter the course of thingsβ¦from bullets to world eventsβ¦if applied to the correct fulcrum.
He battled Nazis as The Switchman.

This girl reminds me of Rosie the Ribbider...(I think thats how you spell it) A lot of women had to take on the roles of men and thier jobs during the war. My grandmother, while her brothers and uncles fought in world war 2, took on a job at the Ford company plant. She worked in the pits, melting metal used as the bodies and for cars.

Cool story! And yeah, it's Rosie the RIVETER, as she drove metal rivets into buildings...

I think you mean Rosie the Riveter(putting rivets into metal) And yes, this piece has a very Rosie feel to it!

Comic art meets 20th century socialist-commie-pinko propaganda. Interesting.
Because this definitely has the same sort of feel, as if it's an updated version of the demi-monochromatic warm-red-tone palette.
And a pinup at that...

Hmm, almost a Rosie the Riveter kind of feel to her; actually tough instead of just being another scantily clad heroine with ridiculous proportions; frankly this is very refreshing.

A female in a comic who is actually wearing clothes? Shocking!
Anyway, I love the pose and colours. Like other people said, it really reminds me of old-style war posters. ^^

Thanks much for the comment, it means a lot to me!
