I like this picture a lot so I hope you don't mind me saying that I don't like the shadow on the feet. Maybe my monitor is off but it makes them too dark to see clearly. Otherwise, it's just about perfect.

Hi Rex, Thanks a lot, Mmm shadow on her feet! I see what your saying... it was a balance, and the shadow had to fall somewhere, as I had to get the lighting just right inside her skirt... if you catch my drift. But I appreciate your comment, and I will keep it in mind for future work..Cheers

Wow you really brought out the 40's style here, very well done, friend! And post worked hair/water? Remarkable!!
Alright, get ready, you said "all comments are welcome", so here goes
Your lights are good, except, if this was intended on a sea, then there's an unnatural (too bright) light from her back/left (our right). I've heard some general rule about having a rim light, but that's more to cater photo studio or promotion type images, not natural world light images. However, the rimlight does look good in bringing out her shape Her dress (underside/abdomen area) is lighted up where it should be darker on the inside, not where her hip is, which is lighted by the main light, but higher. I'm not understanding the left hand, is she in shock? Did she lose control of the oar? Maybe 'cause of the sudden wind blowing her dress up (like a pin-up of course hehe), but still the way the hand's bent, seems a bit twisted unnaturally, it's neither in motion of catching the dress nor pulling from the oar.
Love this image though, you did beautiful and it's well worth being submitted to both the pin-up group and my pin-up fav folder

Hi Mr Wolf, All comment welcomed.. why of course..
Please let me answer your points. All 15 images in this set are based around the original works of great late Pin-Up Artist Gil Elvgren. Hence the ....after Gil Elvgren
This original image can be found here [link]
It's on a lake, with dark trees in the background, I did have many challenges with these images, that the reason why I first took them on, it was a great challenge to find all the props and stuff, and it made me have to paint most of the hair and some clothes on all 15 images.
With that said, I see what your saying and 'take on board' (No pun intended) your points, the hand is a difficult one. Most of Mr Elvgren picture have hidden innuendoes to them.... so in this one, the oar is implying a large penis (te he te he), and where it might be if the angle was a little to the left;-O
I'm still happy with the way the hand came out, yes it's not natural, but then again it's not supposed to be real. Most pin-ups have an over-the-top look, so this is kinda.... oh my hand slipped... and pulled my dress...and I'll show you my pink knickers......oh I'm so sexy... enjoy my flashing at you...LOOK!
All your points are valid, and I thank you for your input, and taking the time to comment. I will keep these point in mind for other pictures or if I ever re-render this image!
Cheers Mr Sheep

No Worries, I find in general it's always better to have good resourse material, even if it's just a female pose I've found in a magazine, then I can take it to the next level, and made my own interpretation... Wow that's a mouth full "Said The Nun to the Vicar"

Hey Marius, cheers. I'm really enjoying these as it's pushing me to get the look just right and find or make all the objects. It's also making me have to paint all the hair to get the 40's look. Paul
