Description

Apart from the modelling which is better than my previous, the design itself has a more modern take on my old concept.

Lights;
I decided to do away with the old ones completely and go for a more sleek look, the old had a mid 90's feel to it.

Body;
The panels are modeled more accurately so the meet more smoothly and the whole flow of the shape feels more natural.
The front is longer, with the wings stretching out more.
The side ducts are all-in-one with the door having the line come from the top of the window all the way to the duct.
The wheel arches are slightly bigger and round to a circle (before they were slightly oval).
Also added a larger Sub-Diffuser which travels all the way under the Car.

Wheels;
New wheel design to match the style of the body. 10 split-spoke.

Engine;
With the engine being a W-16 I decide to model that in and make a feature of it. There is still more to be done but I will update you as I progress.
A W16 engine is a sixteen cylinder piston internal combustion engine in a four-bank W configuration. All W16 engines consist of two 'offset double-row' banks of eight cylinders, coupled to a single crankshaft. [Featured in VW's Bugatti Vayron]

[Created in 3ds Max, Rendered with Mental Ray and some post work in Photoshop]

This took a little more work in post, really just to get the same finish as the Front Render; fav.me/d5ba75o

Maybe I'll do an overhead render if I get time. Here's a rear view.Β

Rear view looks less interesting than front view. But thanks for spending time answer me

Thanks. I've wrote a small journal asking which/if renders they would like to see as a wallpaper.

Might make a poll.

Hmmm Not sure what you mean by odd render.
I would like to know more on why you think its
odd?

Is it the colours, design of the car, scene?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SUPRALYNX In reply to PaulV3Design [2012-11-02 06:05:14 +0000 UTC]

I think "my opinion" the car was slightly smushed in the mid-to-front section. Just my opinion, i hope i did not offend you in any way, that wasn't my tension.

No no - I appreciate the feedback. Everyone has the right
to have an opinion that's the point isn't it.
Thanks for the honesty!

Thanks. Interesting feedback. I'm curious to know what is
it about the style that you don't like?

Ha ha so the whole thing pretty much.
I do appreciate feedback of any kind, keeps things broad.
I was trying something completely different with this and
not another in-fashion body form!

Thanks all the same.

Its a Mid-Front engine w16 - much like in a Bugatti Vayron. Here is a link to my other Render

I like it. Nice concept. Nice execution. Great render. I like the lighting and attention to detail. Even the background (wall and floor) texturing looks good.

Never try vray instead of mentalray?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PaulV3Design In reply to melkorius [2012-10-25 09:32:43 +0000 UTC]

Not tried Vray yet. The results are incredible and the workflow
sounds quicker. I do intend to look into it at some point in
the future. What do you think of Vray (if you use it)?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

melkorius In reply to PaulV3Design [2012-10-25 14:27:50 +0000 UTC]

I use vray is going to do 8 years now. I started by doing some tutorials, but soon I realized that there were things that worked, but did not understand why. I started by buying evermotion scenes as you can see in my works and study the settings of the scenes. But yet it wasn't the easiest way to learn. I took a advanced course of vray and now i can really understand how it works. Its not hard to learn, but to optimize the vray with the machine you have for fast renders...i think that only with a good teacher you can do that. but it is well worth going through all this trouble. The results are fabulous.

I have only really used MR - bought a book then
self taught and that's all I know. I have been
looking into other avenues because I really want
more from my renders and the obvious issue is a
quicker work-flow. If and when I do move on to a
new render engine I'll learn as much as possible.

Really appreciate the comment. Thanks.
