This is an interesting image.
The black and white works wonderfully. And the brightness and contrast is just right.
The depth of field is a bit all over the place; on one hand it highlights the first three brushes very effectively, but on the other hand it's a bit to blurred around the far right brush and also at the bottom of the image, leading up the the canvas.
I'm sure this could be an intended effect but it didn't work for me.
There's not too much more i can say about this image, except that it would be awesome if there were some paint somewhere. Like on the brush, or on the canvas somewhere.
Nice image =]

Thankyou for the critique!
I agree with you about the depth of field not being right toward the right brush. I'm actually happy with the blur at the bottom of the image though.
I didn't want to introduce paint into the photo because I didn't think the black and white would really show it that well.
Thanks again!

ohhh i love it!!! turned out lovely.
and i had a thought re:b&w... it could be freedom, because it leaves the freedom to colour it the way you like... along the lines of that...

That is genius! Why didn't I think of that?
I guess that's the great part about art, how we all have our different interpretations.
Thanks!

The picture kind of reminds me of my old paint photo... kind of.
