Bionicle PhanTonka - Chirox 8693 - ToyUsing this toy for a different project, but decided to take a few shots to see how they came out.

I love the lighting! It makes the color so bold and crisp. They're all great pictures, but I really like the contrast of the various blues with the blurred orange.

Thank you! The blue tone in the middle shot is due to the flash. The orange plastic seemed to glow with the 500w hot lamp shining to the side of the toy. I had fun taking the shots. Glad you like them.

A hot lamp? Is that similar to a normal lamp, like a desk lamp? I have no money for decent lighting, so I always end up wrangling all the lamps in my room whenever I'm trying to take pictures.

It's a professional photo lamp, but it costs less than a strobe system. It has higher wattage light-bulbs. When I first started shooting I used desk lamps. You can now get "daylight" light bulbs that give you a better white balance to your shots.

I love Legos!! That was the greatest invention in the world. I used to play with them for hours and hours.
