Description
Wondering why Zuko has an airbender staff and is in such an attire? Well, blame my fanfiction story Reluctant Hero: [link] .But... if you feel like you need more than a link, basically its a Zuko is the Avatar fanfic. Aang originally died during the purges and the last two Avatars after died. So Aang was sent to be a guide -unknowingly- to a very stubborn prince who can think of nothing but his honor. We get Iron and Zuko bonding, Pakku being an a$$, and Zuko trying to escape the Northern water tribe... which explains the cloths and so forth...
Anyway, I drew this because my inspiration has come back and I've started writing a few more chapters for it ... this scene hasn't happened yet. It will be, so its kind of a spoiler for the next few chapters. XD
Regardless, one has to wonder: is the staff the tool in question or Aang himself.

Glad you like the fan art. I find that drawing generally accompany my writing and are always good inspiration to set out scenes. You know what they say, art influences other branches of art.
Though if Fanfiction is art... eh, why not.

So wait, did Aang died, but in secret he's alive and helping Zuko? How's that possible?

Well he did die... but let me clarify. Instead of surviving the plunge into the water when running away, Aang died and then the Avatar chain continued, both preceding Avatars ineffective since the toys to detect them were destroyed and they weren't able to defend themselves efficiently before being slain. Thus, the spirit world knew that the Fire Nation Avatar would not accept his fate willing so they sent Aang back into the world -almost a type of reincarnation- as a spiritual endowed child that knows he has to help Zuko though he doesn't recall being an Avatar ... since only the current Avatar can have that knowledge... so forth and so on, chapter spoilers.

Well... i can't ruin the whole plot line. Some of this is still foreshadowing in the story itself. We'll just hack it up to Sokka's personal quote its, "Avatar stuff." XD
But for convince, basically, story wise, Aang's character serves as a spiritual guide, comical relief, and for the nostalgic reader. Plot wise... that's why he's there.
