Hey thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, getting discouraged is just part of the learning process. It still happens to me when I'm trying something and it's just not working out. Biggest tip I can give is first, don't give up. Second, practice everyday, even if it's just a quick doodle, and third, study what other artists have done. Try and mimic what they do, or try and draw one of their drawings. I still get tons of inspiration from other artists I watch. Little example...
I've been wanting to draw the mouths of my characters to look more like they are in a state of absolute laughing hysteria. I was having some trouble coming up with something I liked. I watch a Japanese artist (Link provided: twitter.com/rTjAHY5EYtofdgK and how he draws mouths. I really like how he does it, and I studied his technique, and incorporated it into my work.
I would also recommend the book "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way." It's not really about learning how to draw Spiderman and such, but it is a great guide on learning how to draw proper perspective, foreshortening, anatomy, etc.
