Wrong, all these characters have a connection to Shadow in some way shape or form.

Rouge: Closest thing to a sister he currently has.

Maria the Hedgehog: The hedgehog incarnation of Maria Robotnik, the source of all his happiness and misery.

Omega: Teammate and friend.

Emerl: He and Shadow both were under the care of Gerald Robotnik.

Lien-Da: In "Mobius: X Years Later", she was the chief enforcer to "King Shadow".

Mina Mongoose: Fans have often paired her and Shadow together.

Dr. Ivo Julian "Eggman" Robotnik: Descendent of his creator Gerald Robotnik.

Mephiles the Dark: Holds a particular hate for Shadow in "Sonic the Hedgehog 06".

E-102 Gamma: While he and Shadow only truly interacted in "Sonic Battle", Gamma served as the precursor to Omega, his friend.

My point right there. Why would you put her in there just because she had been paired up with Shadow by fans? I can understand the obvious ones (Omega, Rouge, Maria, Robotnik). Gerald would have been more appropriate. Mephiles doesn't even hold that much of a connection with Shadow. It was Shadow's goal to elimnate Mephiles. Another one you proved my point on was "Lien-Da: In 'Mobius: X Years Later', she was the chief enforcer to 'King Shadow'." That was in the future on the story she has nothing to do with him now. The connection that you explain with Gamma is what Omega has with Shadow, not just teammate and friend. They may have had connections with Shadow but very unrelevant ones. You get my point?

While I see your point, and completely agree with it, the purpose those characters serve in this poster, is:

First of all, the poster is depicting an alternate universe where Sonic the Hedgehog was never born, thus Robotnik would take over and lay waste to Mobius, with Lien-Da as his chief enforcer.

But one day, Robotnik discovers the existence of his grandfather's ultimate creation: Shadow the Hedgehog.

Robotnik also during this time is creating the E-series robots as "Super Solider Robots". The E-series is used to help Lien-Da take on the Freedom Fighters led by their de facto leader Mina Mongoose (who took charge after everyone in the royal Acorn blood line was killed). The most powerful of these is E-102 Gamma, but he is also the first to develop emotion, thus betraying Robotnik. In hopes of creating a robot of Gamma's caliber, Robotnik develops Omega from the schematics of Gamma. Unfortunately, Omega follows his predecessor's footsteps and betrays Robotnik for the same reasons.

After reawakening Shadow, Robotnik hopes to use him for his own evil purposes, but makes the mistake of allowing Shadow to use the Chaos Emeralds powering his fortress. Shadow, inexperienced with the mystical gems, maximizes their power to an uncontrollable state, and by accident brings a dead female hedgehog (who was a former prisoner) back to life. However, she is brought back with Maria's spirit, mind, memories, and personality. After a long talk, and overcoming the shock of his once thought dead companion, Shadow switches side and escapes from Robotnik with Maria to join the Freedom Fighters.

Along the way, they are joined Gamma, Omega, and a Mobian surviver named Rouge the Bat, who is getting by life as a scavenger.

Through their travel's and misadventures they will be joined by an uncovered Gizoid, codenamed: Emerl, fight Robotnik, and accidentally unleash the being known as Mephiles the Dark.
