Such a shame that there's none of these beauties left anymore.. Would've been amazing to at least see 'em under full steam.
But then again, with a PRR T1 Duplex-lokey possibly being built new in the future, I suppose everything can be possible.

The T1 is a fool's project. Β If they think they are going to get permission to run the thing on any New England main lines they are downright delusional......it's hard enough with grandfathered equipment, and frankly I do not have much faith in the skillset or drive of those making it. Β Making a replica of a driving wheel is not the same as correctly engineering and expanding upon the engineering of a locomotive like that.

I suppose so. Those shark-nosed giants had interesting looks n' history while they were under steam I gotta admit, but when thinking about it myself... myeah, a pretty strange choice of all lokeys to build from the rails up.
I personally would've preferred an Atlantic-, Pacific- or a New York-/I5-Hudson-type instead.

That's a very classic image, I always thought those were utterly beautiful locomotives.

I-5's are gorgeous streamliners, and from what I understand, designed better than the NYCRR hudsons

Watch out, twigger, she's a proper ju-be-ju.
Give 'er a sheet and let her rip we're the boys to pull her through!
You ought to see us runnin', the wind a-blowin' free,
On a passage from the Dogger Bank to grey Grimsby!
