You misunderstand, I meant the Western Maryland 4-6-2 locomotives. Those engines were decorated quite nicely in their day! www.northeast.railfan.net/imagβ¦
The link above is 204, the only one to retain it's decorations into the 1950's. She was considered the "belle of the road", but even that could not save her from the scrapper's torch.

Most of them do. The ones that scrapped thousands of engines in the period of two years in the 1990's certainly did not. Β I will be actively participating over there in just a few days to do my bit to improve the situation of living steam
