Description A late birthday gift for my friend Annika *JustABeautifulDream

This is an ATC so 2.5"x3.5" - I think it's showing bigger here than the actual drawing.

My reference is this image [link] by *hailstorm13 who gave me permission to draw it sooooo long ago now! I love it.

Materials this time:
Bristol Board
Graphite - 4H, 2B, 5B - Mech and Wooden
Eraser
Pin
Blutack
Time: About 4 hours

Thank you for taking a look
Paula

your eye for detail is amazing! I really like that the wrinkles around his eyes look like wrinkles not just lines, also your shading is absolutely jaw-droppingly smooth. *------*

Oh wow, I love it!! It is sososo amazing how much you can get into such a small space! You really are one of the most talented and nicest people on here, it has to be said. Also I am completely ok with the God-thing, I'm sure you would be a much nicer god than the ones we have already.
I really love the reference you chose and how you cut it and how you drew it is just brilliant!!

Oh, has Christina been paying you to say nice things too?

I loved drawing him for you. I'll check and see if I still have your address, I'm not very good at being organised

I'm pretty good thanks for asking and have managed to do a little bit of work on my drawing almost every day this week If I can keep this up I may have it finished this time next week as I'm at the nit picking and refining stage.

So cute. How did you get so much detail into such a small drawing?

You have some very lucky friends

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pbird12 In reply to NicksPencil [2012-09-21 17:49:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Nick and for faving

You know, more often than not I make a mess of these tiny drawings, but occasionally one or two of them work out Most of the hair detail was indented with a pin before I overdrew them to get the white hairs, that helped loads

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NicksPencil In reply to pbird12 [2012-09-21 17:55:38 +0000 UTC]

The white hairs was going to be my next question. I read about indenting on one of Ed Stitt's drawings but had completely forgotten about it.
Do you cut down Bristol Board to the small size or does it come that small?
