Hurrah!! My first coloured pencil drawing is done ... it was fun
This is a drawing from the very amazing she gave me permission to draw from her gallery, it is well worth a look if you have missed out before. My title is the same as hers because, well, I'm not sure there is another name for it
I am a little bit upset at the scan of this, I never think or say things like this, but in real life, this is so much better. In fact, I might even resort to a photo tomorrow and see if i can get a better image and colour.
This has taken me somewhere between 15-16 hours of kiddie colouring with my pencils .... brilliant!!
Materials:
Strathmore Vellum Bristol Board
HB Mech Pencil for the sketch
Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils
Blue Tac
White Gel Pen (not good friends with the polochromos, they wont have a second meeting)
There are WIPS of this one in my scraps too, if anyone like to see these things

Well comparing the two, I don't really see any real problems. The only thing I would advise, is from my limited understanding of colored pencils, there's a colorless blending pencil you can use that would give it a less pourous look to the piece. Otherwise as far as the drawing I don't see too much particularly wrong. Your outlines on the faces are a bit too thick, the stitches on the male look like an afterthought compared to the rest as well. You, unlike 95% of people aren't afraid of light lights and dark darks, and I compliment you on that. However, you're moving it too far in certain places and missing your midtones especially in her face. Lastly I would have liked to see the scar tissue on the male's neck, but I see where it would have been a bit complicated for a first piece with the media. Summary, i.e. tl;dr- outlines are too thick, midtones could use a bit more work, and colorless blender would be a good investment.

The colours are so well mixed together and they blend beautifully! And I love their eyes so much <3

The blood on him looks amazing and the skin around his eyes is great.
And I really like the shadow/light on her throat.

Actually not really. I have a person I want to draw but I can't find a good photo of him, that is kind of funny because usually I have too many pictures to decide which one to draw. I think I will have a break for a few days.

I'm also about to do my first A3 drawing, I started it on A4 last night and its not going to do it justice at all, so I just drew something else until I draw a grid onto A3
