Previous | NextWE GOT A FULL GYM BATTLE, YALL.
Was originally going to split this over two parts (can you find the original stopping point
) but after getting heavily distracted for a couple months, I wanted to return with a bang. Hopefully you all enjoy experiencing this as much as I enjoyed planning it all out lolAuthors notes:
- It's Dynamic Punch. Asadi's just...learning.
-Speaking of Dynamic Punch, fun fact: the move's animation in game is apparently based off of Jotaro's signature ORAORAORA.
- I had to channel alot of DBZ for this one.
- This gym match humbled alot of people...or rather, pokemon.
- I streamed the entire process for this update. It's in several parts over on my youtube channel . The only one that isn't up is the last stream (WHICH WAS 11 HOURS) due to being taken down for copyrighted music.
- There's probably more notes but it's so late and I want to go to bed so i'll update later.

I've said this before but I just love love love the whole take on the Dewford Gym. The lay out, the concepts of penalties in a Gym match, it makes it all so unique and feels real and grounded
You captured Asadi's anxiety during the battle really well! The entire match was tense and had me on the edge of my seat, wonderful work!

Also AAAA, glad you also picked up on Asadi's anxieties. She's had them throughout, but I think this is the first part I really actually embraced showing them explicitly rather than subtly.

Probably the scene during the battle at the end when Brawly gets all hyped up after Cohen beats up his first pokemon. Idk just the ref in the back trying to give out a Penalty and then Brawly is like "OH YEAH! LETS DO THIS!" is so funny to me.
