So I’ve been in a nagging mood to draw super heroes, only for the fact that I love them and I don’t have very many of my own on paper (at least ones that aren’t mutants). So in light of there being so many DA super heroes out there I came up with a few of my own. This Eclipse, hero (heroine) 2 of 5 to come hope you like.

Eclipse

Skills: Rene is a smart young woman, but she’s new to the game and so has not yet trained in the various crime fighting skills. She’s a college educated young woman with per-med training, skilled in CPR and emergency health care. Eclipse fights and defends her self with basic yet rather effective street fighting, as part of her learning to be a super hero she has taken up kickboxing.

Powers: Eclipse’s powers allow her to negate and control photonic energies, able to cancel out any light source with in a radius of 20 feet at max power for 27 minutes. Her powers complete deny photonic energy, making it utterly dark, cold, disorientating and generally maddening. Eclipse can’t see within this field but can sense the location and movement of anything trapped with in. Eclipse is truly both sides of the same coin; for along with the creation of utter darkness she has the ability to create blinding light. Her photonic projection seems to be focused around and thru her hands, even able to seemingly throw orbs of light at a target in order to distract or disorientate a foe. Eclipse also possesses limited flight, able to travel at sub sonic speeds for a short time. Rene has some precognitive and ESP abilities the limits of which are yet unknown.

History: Rene was your typical young woman, working and putting her self thru school, the only thing that might be considered out of the norm would be the fact that Rene is a modern witch, witch of course referring to her following of Wicca and modern paganism. Not one of those wacky teenage Goth girls who think they can turn the ex into a toad but a true follower of the Wiccan faith. One day her destiny in this world changed, while performing, what she thought was a simple ritual during the solar eclipse; Rene unknowingly opened her self to energies from another plain. Powered and drawn by the energy of the eclipse these energies spilled forth and engulfed the young woman and endowed her with awesome power. And with these powers Rene has joined in on the crime fighting game as the Mistress of Midnight known as Eclipse.
