Dang... I drew this on January eighteenth, but I have no scanner! So, I'm using Grandpa's scanner once again. The family is over here preparing for the whole "Superbowl Sunday" thing... The biggest bore I know!Anyway, it's a Cat Mer! I did him with Prismacolor pencils over the course of three days. One day to sketch and pen, and two to color. I'm pretty happy with him, but the mouth is bothering me... It doesn't line up with the cheekbones. Oh, well!

Just a random thought... wouldn't it be called a Mercat instead?
Anyway, 
One thing I noticed, maybe, other that the mouth (which I never would have noticed had it not been pointed out to me XD) Is the places where the blue from the background shows through the fins- the blue seems too light to me, maybe could have used a darker coloured pencil? It just seems to stick out a bit to me...but I'm not sure.
But I really envy your colouring. Very cool design, too!

Nope. Cat Mer, as in "Cat Mermaid". Not Mercat. They're different creatures... ^___^ Thanks for the comment! The transparent look is waaaaay easy. Just put down the background colors lightly and go over it in white or cream (I used an offwhite for this). IMPORTANT! Draw over it in white in the same direction as the original strokes! Otherwise, it smears strangely. And... Blue? What blue? I didn't use any blue in this picture! Do you mean the dark green from the seaweed? Yeah, it did come out a bit too light. I agree!

Trust me, the transparency is the easiest! I did it on Tait with a lavendar. That's the beauty of Prisma pencils, I must admit. They're so obnoxiously soft, they can't help but blend.

You did really well with the fins and the background, but especially the illusion that its body is like a snake's and isn't just a flat curlique. The claws are good, too!

Very cute! I really like how you changed the values as it goes back...very cool, makes it pop out! Yup, I think only the mouth is the problem that I see!
