Description
I'm happy and sad. I consider this to be one of my best pieces, but it imaged terribly.I sketched this randomly in the top-left corner of a tiny little piece of paper, not expecting a full piece to come out of it. So that's why this piece looks so weird. It kind of tumbled out of me and I wanted to finish it as it was, preserving the spontaneous nature of the piece.
Anyhow, enjoy the moody Flaaffy.

What an adorable little Flaffy. I really like Flaffy, and there is so very little (good) fanart of this guy, so thank you! Love the coloring and the style in which you drew. Wonderful work. Its simple, but at the same time can catch your attention. Well done!

Thanks so much! I only wish I could have gotten an accurate digital image of the original, as it had some of my richest, finest color mixing.

Wow... I never really liked Flaffy, but this one is absolutely amazing and beauitful. It's... moving, yeah - this picture is in motion, that's what makes it so great. I love the colors too, they're like from a very old book, you know - one of those which lie peacefuly on grandfather's bookshelves, those magical books

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed comment. I wish you could see the original! The darned camera didn't do a very good job, especially on the poor grass.

Do I sense the artist in Peach coming back?
I really hope so. This is totally AWESOME!
Kinda inspires me to mix odd colors again.

Thanks so much, Cheru! I had a bizarre bout of art diarrhea one day while at an event.
There are a couple more things to scan plus a bunch that I gave away to onlookers without getting an image first. Not sure what this means for my art block, but it was awesome!
I started with just 12 Prismacolor markers, one being black, and I was still able to have fun mixing. Go for it!

Welcome Well that's just awesome!! I love when that happens in an art slump
I can't wait to see that other stuff. o.o
Alrighty! I will~ My mom recently gave me a pack of 12 colored pencils...I think I'll use that!

I suck so bad at mixing with colored pencils. But good luck to you!

aww XD Well I haven't quite figured out how to blend with markers yet...but...then again these markers are WAY darker on paper than how the tip looks. @_@;;;

The actual marker tip, or the colored sticker on the end of the cap? Never trust the colored sticker or the wrapper. XD Lots of them hardly resemble the actual ink color.
The ink looks lighter or darker depending on the paper. The ink is intense in color compared to the pencils anyway, but I'd recommend experimenting with various papers to find one you like. Some papers make the inks come out real pale.

the actual marker tip XD I don't trust the cap @_@;
Oh, I'll try that then! We got some cardex and I have a sketchbook lying around...

Prismas will work on just about any paper, but how they work changes fairly dramatically based on the paper. One of my favorites for mixing and blending is this stuff . It's real thin and it can be hard to control the bleed if you're not experienced with the markers, but it's awesome for mixing. All of my markered Pokemon stuff for the past several months has been on that paper. It's cheap and ink-efficient, too!

Whoa, that is really gorgeous! That poor Flaaffy looks so sad and lonely, as if it were left behind or something.
It's very expressive. I love its emotion, along with the general emotion of the rest of the scenery. It seems very sort of dismal, but in a good sort of "this works for this piece" way.
The lines on this adorable little Flaaffy are great! You've really gotten the whole crosshatching thing down. Even though I think the Dugtrio you just drew (phew, you're rolling out art now!) looked a bit more dynamic, I definitely think this did a better job at flowing with the piece. The lines around its head-wool, circling around, give a very good impression of that. I also love the subtle coloring on that. It must look amazing to see in person!

You give the best comments! Thank you, Marriland! I used Cream, Deco Pink, and Light Cerulean blue for the "white" wool, and I'm glad I didn't overdo the lines there so the wool doesn't look too dark.

aaah YOU DREW ONE OF MY FAV'S <3 your flaffy came out so cuuuuute. I have a friend who takes pictures of her drawings. She has a really good camera though also, would taking a picture rather than scanning help? Either way this came out adorable.

The scan looked waaaaaaaaaaaay worse than the photograph, which is what is posted here. We tried both.
Anyhow, thanks! Flaaffy is one of my favs, too.

I really enjoy the style this is in. If I didn't no better I would of thought this was a pro illustration on a Pokemon card! XD
Great work!

Thanks. Alas, both the camera and the scanner saw through my careful mixing to the non-harmonious first layers.
