Alrighty! One of my first critiques! ♥
From the get go, this picture really jumped out at me. The colors, the scheme, the pose. I'm personally drawn to colors like this from the get go, but I have to mention the fact that my mom peeked over my shoulder to get a glimpse of what I was looking at because the colors were so bright and vivid. Soft on the character, but bold when you consider the color of the background. Which is great work! The focus here IS your character and that's how it should be. Sure, if you wanted, you could've added more to the blue backdrop like a light, cutesy, texture or what have you, but by keeping it simple and plain you kept the focus on your character and not a busy background to accompany her. Going with the route of little doodles bring her out more! Great choice.
As for the character herself, what a darling. It's a simple design, not too flashy, but her pose and expression say all that it needs to say about how her personality might be. The execution of the pose defines her without giving any long winded description and I like that. It makes me want to know more about them, see more art and follow whatever stories you might have planed. Even so if this is just a one time doodle, it still has my imagination racing on how she could be like. Expression is always a strong point in your artwork, and that's no different here.
To the overall coloring, I think it's great for this kind of picture. It's not too messy, it's got some blend, but it doesn't look like it was a rough job done either. I like the use of a light gradient at the hair. What caught my eye the most shading wise was the light touches of purple against the frame and the background. That added more to that POP factor an d plays with the eye that she's right off the page.
My only suggestion, though the anatomy here is great, her hand and finger seem to be a little large. Though, I could chalk that up to being your style or the 'Sonic Style' in general, but it just stands out to me. I don't think it needed to be waaaaay smaller but just a smidgen. But again, that could just be the style.
Regardless, overall, I really enjoy looking at this and the fun vibes it gives! ♥ Great work and thank you for sharing it!
