lols x3 Hasi is German for Bunny. So I felt I needed German names for Hasi's pride. I lave the name Hildegard.

Poor Samson. No cub deserves to be treated like that... And just because be was born with the giant gene? He's adorable! So sad.
But I love Hasi. He is definitely the best big brother ever.

He scared their old pride. They were all golden brown to chocolate colored. Where Samson is a pearly silver. But they also all knew how he came to be. Samson's father forced himself on Hasi's mother. And to them. He looks just like his father. Then because he was too large when he was born... Hasi's mother died. So to them... they think he is a murderer even though he had no control of the situation. They blame him. Then as he was getting growing... the fact that he was larger than cubs older than himself also scared him. Thinking he would hurt the other cubs.
Once he leaves and grows a mane... his size actually garners favorable attention. Because a very large male would be seen as very attractive. So his own feelings about his size are rather mixed.
Hasi is the greatest. He loves his little brother. He doesn't see what everyone else does. All he saw was his baby brother, the cub his mother wanted and loved no matter how he came to be, the cub his mother died bringing into the world. So Samson is all he has. He can't see him as anything but his baby brother.

Oh... Well, in that case, I can kinda see their point. People (lions, in this case) tend to fear what is different from them. And with the horrible situation regarding Samson's conception and birth, I can somewhat understand why the Pride would feel the way they do. Still, it wasn't Samson's fault; he was just a poor, innocent cub after all. I have such mixed feelings about him as an adult... One minute I hate him, the next minute I love him... But now that I know how his cubhood went, I can understand him a bit better. =/
And that's so great of Hasi. I really love and respect him as a character for that. Samson is definitely lucky to have him, and should be so grateful... I'm glad Shiva told off Samson in "Survival" when he was talking bad about Hasi, as that really was uncalled for, and Hasi definitely didn't deserve it.

Hasi tried to raise Samson well. But even a very good parent can sometimes be undermind by outside influences. The rest of their pride. And then Alexander and his pride after. So Samson is mixed on how he reacts to things. Hasi is very submissive... so he backs down easily. Thus lowering the effectiveness of his influence.

Yeah... That makes a lot of sense. Which reminds me, how did Hasi and Samson get mixed up with Alexander and his so-called "pride", anyway? Did you explain that elsewhere and I just missed it, or will we find out sometime in the future?

Eh... I haven't gotten totally into it anywhere... it was sort of started with the Mistake comic but I never finished it. They left their pride when Samson reached a certain size. No choice after Hansel finally tries to kill Samson. They wander about as rogues for awhile. Come across Methuselah and stay with him for awhile. Till Kando actually finds them. He becomes weirdly obsessed with Samson then. He actually sends Twiggy and Pande (chunk) to get Alexander while he follows them. Leaving markings so Alexander can track them. Then Alexander manages to coax Samson into the pride. And Hasi being Hasi... always follows Samson. Even though he knew it was a BAD idea.

Oh I see. Interesting... I read the "Mistake" comic, but I never thought it was supposed to be longer than those few pages. If you ever decide to finish it, I'd be interested, but no pressure, of course. I know you've got a lot on your plate already. ^^
