Growing up was never a challenge for Chrys, nor was it very eventful. As an only child born into a family of middle-class standing, she led a relatively normal childhood. Both of her parents were very loving, and she appreciated that as they worked to support the three of them. Her father landed a long-term job as an architect, while her mother was somewhat of a secretary for the local doctor's office. Though they both always found time to spend with their child at the end of the day.

It wasn't until she was about 12 when she came to the realization that her parents started to drift apart. It was a bit of a strange situation, with her mother moving out but neither of them filing for a divorce. They remained civil, even going on 'family' dinners together. Though Chrys couldn't help but think they only did that for her sake. For the most part, she lived a comfortable life with her father, and she was still 'his little flower' no matter how old she got. She always appreciated how much he took care of her. As for her mother, she still visited, but from all the lost time together Chrys couldn't help but feel estranged.

It was at that point in her life that Chrys decided to take up contemporary dance. It truly helped her get through any hardships, being able to channel all the negative energy into those movements. All those years of performing such a disciplined activity made her very flexible and agile, being able to maneuver quickly and swiftly with a good amount of grace. She made a few friends with similar interests, as well as a few more once she got into high school. From then on, life continued as normal. Somewhat...

Upon being accepted to Crowhaven...
Chrys sifted through the mail, separating the ones meant for her, and the ones meant for her father. Though... she paused for a moment as her gaze fell onto one of the more official-looking letters. Carefully ripping it open, she began to read its contents.

A few moments passed, and she calmly refolded the letter and placed it back into the envelope. She had gotten accepted and given a scholarship to attend Crowhaven Academy. What were the odds?

She had only heard stories of the disappearance of a group of students who attended Crowhaven, but she brushed it off as only a rumor or merely an urban legend. Getting accepted into a school with such prestige was an accomplishment in itself, and she couldn't wait to share the news with her father.
