Description New & Improved formula, mechanics hate him! eheh
I remade the blade completely with less-wide-options. All that remains are the lips on the tips/valleys, the belt-loops and paint!
I painted a string to attach into the wheel as the winch for the grappling hook ~

A video showing how Straight I managed to get things :3 The wonderful engineering tolerance, excellent movement but minimal wobble! Made by hand :C
youtu.be/ABnlV6fxgnc Also compares the 0.5 cm difference :V

Material: 2mm acrylic sheet plastic, super glue and some thin (2 & 6)mm crafting foam
Reference: The vambrace prop toy: www.amazon.com/Assassins-Creed…

Below contains dimensions and lots of numbers, you can stop read here if you don't care

Note: THE LENGTHS ARE SIZED FOR MY ARM!! (25 cm from elbow to wrist)
                     Technical stuff,
The blade is 1,5cm wide, that's my border between a knife and a needle.
The parts in acending order (right to left in picture): Blade 15x125mm, Extension 18x125mm, House 22x142mm,
cap (rectangle) 26x45, hub (triangle) 45x23mm,
Wheel (diameter) 50mm (height) 11mm +2mm for center

Things to note, this is what I've discovered felt nice.
The blade sticks out 15mm from the total length of the extension when closed and. extends to 100mm (travels 85mm)
Extension meets the house at the tips and extends/travels 75mm
The house inserts about 30mm into the cap (rectangle)
The hole on the cap is just cosmetic, and the width of the triangle is just a little smaller than the wheel!

            Mechanic
Simple gravity blade, twist the arm to extend. The blade has a screw ON TOP and the extension has its screw ON THE BOTTOM. By this I can attach a (strong?) magnet below to hold the screws and hold the blade :3

i know this is just a prop version, but honestly i think the in-game version has to use some sort of powerful spring.

I understand the mechanism (and I really like that it's activated by the arm and not a ring on a finger) but what does twisting your arm actually do? does it pull a locking mechanism out or what exactly? I'm also not really understanding the thing with the screws and magnet. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question

The twist forces the blade to sling out, as if a person in a car lungs forward when the car brakes. I have a sprint that keeps it in place so no accidental stabbings occurs. Spring controlled by finger
The magnets keeps the blade in place when its extended They are placed in each part, Since its free movement, with the magnets I could hold the blade upright and it would't slide back down.
If I twist the arm my force will win over the magnetic power and it retracts

I have like... colours and stuff and added things maybe. I thought about making a "how I made this" on the blade but no tutorial, its so easy my professor can do it

When I made Shay cosplay I created an hidden blade using forex but after some uses it became a bit bent and now doesn't slide well, I definitely need to try (and find) this acrylic sheet plastic.

plywood works good as well (I think, its probably more sensitive to moisture and such things) There is a youtuber I forgot the name upon, that makes Dual Action blades with plywood and has like hour long tutorials
All I have is a blade in a box, in a box

A complicated thing is just a bunch of simple things put together. Work with the basics to make something advanced!

The measures aren't that detailed'ly planned ahead I just wanted like 1,5 cm'ish length here and about... maybe 9cm there
There-on, to work with layers instead of numbers, wheel is 6 layers, blade is 2 etc etc.
Lots of numbers being functions of other dimensions, the last layer is wider than previous and everything bases of the smallest width!

Okay that might sound advanced... But its not! Just think about it ~
