//Khalid was schooled at home; he's quiet, reserved and a little awkward to start with, but he's quite trustworthy and reliable after one actually manages to get through his natural distrust of strangers. He's the kind of person that is very tolerant and hard to actually annoy, but he doesn't like to take a fall twice, and once you've broken his trust, it's very unlikely you will get it back. Some of his best, and worst moments in life have been from choices made quite suddenly, but he likes to look at the positive parts and remember all the new places he's been to rather than the mistakes.//

History:
Even as a child, Khalid has always felt an affinity for things that were mysterious or unusual. He used to spend most of his free time sitting quietly near the stones and ruins inside or around their hometown and was never really discouraged from straying. He's also always had a love for making watercolor sketches of his surroundings, which he still does. When there's no time to sit down for a moment of quiet, he takes a photo instead.
His first pokemon wasn't really one he "caught", rather one that quite literally dropped on his lap. When he was around ten, he stayed outside longer than usual and a playful shadow tried to play tricks by appearing and disappearing just at the edge of his vision. It happened a few times in the following days and eventually he tentatively befriended what turned out to be a ghastly. Hani, as he named the pokemon, has been with him ever since, and they're quite inseparable.
Going where he pleased or where he felt he was drawn, cultivated his sense of adventure and it wasn't long before he strayed farther and farther away from home. Shortly before he finished his schooling and set out, his mother gifted him Akeem as a froakie. His younger sister who is much more charming, but also content to stay where she is, takes care of the small family shop and their parents back in Geosenge Town.
He likes to explore and poke around less visited paths. Ruins, ancient architecture and undisturbed wild pretty much call his name, and along the way he added Nour and Alim (a litwick and yamask at the time, respectively). On a whim, when he turned twenty-one, he wrote to his family that he would be gone for sometime and got himself on a ship to Hoenn.
The path along coastal Hoenn was where he caught the fifth member of his team, Nadim, as a magikarp. He settled for some years in Lavaridge Town where he worked for the local Herb shop and learned about incenses in his spare time after discovering how much he liked them. He was in a pretty stable relationship at the time, which was the main reason to settle, but it went sour and feeling betrayed, he put in his notice at the shop, and shortly after packed up his things and set out to Slateport City.
Another few port-to-port skips later, he found himself in Isla Crescendo; he had never lived in an island before and considered this a new opportunity to have a memorable adventure and add to his sizeable collection of landscape and urban sketches and photographs. He caught his Abra, Samir, after arriving in Isla Crescendo and considered it a good omen. As months passed, he made his way from Pahpeya City through Kala Mansi and Crescendo to Pinyaaple Town. He liked the natural balance of the town, nestled between trees, gardens and water and decided to settle here, hopefully for good. He's recently put up most of his savings and opened a tiny incense shop of his own; preparing the blends is quiet and almost therapeutical work, trainers can always use a boost for their pokemon, and some breeders have special uses for them in their projects, too.

Nadim looks pretty fearsome, but he's probably the friendliest gyarados that exists./
