Description
In the process of going through our moving boxes from two years ago, I found one of my old notebooks with negatives and contact sheets. I was 13 at the time, visiting Taughannock with my parents and siblings, and shooting with a 620 box camera of some sort. I remember that it wasn't a Kodak Brownie, but that's about all. It was an exceedingly simple beast. The film edge says 'Kodak Safety Film'. My dad wrote 'Verichrome Pan' on one of the contact sheets.2014 versions

Simple lens softness. I wonder how many people will have old pictures available to look at fifty years from now-I suspect most will be on some long junked computer.

Indeed. If it's important, print it.

Nice dream like quality. All images do not need to be task sharp to be beaitful.

Yes. As I think back, I did very little photography in highschool and college. I took a lot of snapshots while I was in service, then the cost of processing made it take a back seat. It really only since Y2K that I picked it up again.

Processing costs were what made me stop, until digital, as well.

One reason I rarely shoot color.

Since I usually shoot specifically for color references.... um, yeah....

The dreamy quality fits the story behind the photo really well. Thanks for showing it.

It seems fitting that this was taken when you were on the cusp of adolescence.. There's a dreamy, nostalgic quality to it; the view back to childhood is always blurred by all that we have experienced and become afterwards. Lovely work

Thanks. It was fascinating going through and scanning these old photos. The focus is not the sharpest, but the tonal range is wide. I was pleased to see that I was taking care in composition even back then.
