All eaten up with light leaks, but it still captures something essential about the day.

The bits of foam glued inside the film spool holders in the Holga are there for a reason. If they get pulled out there isn't enough tension to wind the film tight on the take-up spool. When you remove the exposed film from the camera light can get in at the edges. I really need to replace them. (Many Holga shooters regard light leaks as part of the aesthetic. I do not.)

February 20 according to my Instagram posts. I parked at the east side Hogsback overlook at Letchworth, hiked north on the Finger Lakes Trail to the Mount Morris Dam, then back past the car and south until I decided it was time to turn around and head home.

I was in the upper 20s F, so not overly cold except that the west wind was howling across the gorge. I was happy for the snowshoes; in some places I was breaking trail in both direction and the blowing snow covered over my tracks.

I have not shot with the Holga for a couple years. I had forgotten how much fun the miserable thing is.
