about 9 out of 10 gaians react this way when you try to give them tips or tell them to try harder, regardless of how you tell them. the tanned avatar in black is how my avatar currently looks.and i'm not that deep when i talk there, i don't say all that at once, lol. but that's the general of what i tell people there. practise anatomy, yadda yadda...
art should be drawn for more than just the polite comments gaians starve for. get real.

if you notice, that girl who did the art responded negativly to constructive criticism, not even rude constructive criticism. this pic is a tribute to her and all of the morons who are above critique and development.

I went through the link and after reading everything that was posted all that I have to say is: dont stop giving good advice. I know a lot of people respond and will respond negativly, but that is just an example of their ignorance or emotional investment in the argument not your rudeness, and if you impact just 1 in 10 of those you give good art criticism to they will be much better for it. It is very refreshing to see someone give intelligent advice and follow thorugh, just don't get dragged into a downward spiral of anger at them respond to their comment so they don't think they won and ignore your advice althogether, and who knows you may get them in the end after they are no longer so emotionally invested in winning an argument. The key point like you said is that no one is perfect so you have to keep your mind open to new ways to improve.

but then again sometimes its probly just an excuse to rant at other people and complain and what not since yelling at ppl irl is scary so forums, like gaia's, are "safe"... unless of course you take everything personally and are some stupid emo kid who listens to chemical romance and cuts themselves in the bathroom....

Yeah, I found two people yesterday (and called em out quite awesomely ) for posting shit that was clearly not their work. One of the pics has been floating around the net for ages (years, actually..I have it on my comp somewhere) and the other one was obviously scanned out of a book. The absolute retardation of the non-artistic world astounds me to no end. I hope that hooch that stole your art burns in the deepest pits of hades. Art theft totally not FTW. I wanna learn Romanian just to tell her off I actually have a translator for it, somewheres...two of my RPG toons are Carpathian).

it feels good to do a little bit of artistic justice, lol. this one girl had stolen all fo these women's pantings of wolves, adn when i called her out she was rude. so i contacted an admin, and simple said she was stealing some ladies art, posted links to prove my point, adn she was banned in no time.

everyone shoulda ccept the fact not EVERYONE will see your art the way you do. sometimes i work really hard on soething, putting 8+ hours of work into it, and i only get maybe, 8 comments and 6 favs.
and then i'll whip out a silly chibi in 15 mins and EVERYONE LOVES IT. lol.

i'm guilty of it, where when i finish a pic and it looks fine to me and ny friend says 'this is off' or 'that looks wrong'. and i go, 'what? no, it's fine. stop nit picking.' but i'm aware when i do that. XD

1.The sub par kids who are totally LOL like featured in your image here, and think they know everything there is.

using up the FPS doug quote is not the way to go - save it for a deagle blast through the temple
