(NOTE: I know this reference sheet still needs a lot of work, and I am also aware that my style doesn’t exactly fit with the show style as much. I’m aware the cutie mark is way too complex and probably makes no sense. But I suck at vectors and line art in general so I decided to stick to my guns and draw this pony how I envisioned it.)

Name: Peculiur

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Race: Earth pony

Talent: Creativity among odd places.

Personality: Independent, determined, introverted, observant, intuitive, anxious, imaginative, open-minded, can be somewhat stubborn at times and ambitious.

She is not socially awkward per se, she’s just easily overlooked and no one seems to notice her presence even when she is not intentionally trying to be sneaky.

Peculiur is a small mare, much smaller then most ponies her age, (only slightly taller then Featherweight). Although she was born an earth pony, she refused to let that deter her dreams of becoming an artist. Through sweat, blood and tears, Peculiur would work hours on sketches and other projects that depicted images of worlds beyond the stars and self-portraying paintings of her desire to make her mark on the world.

She wasn’t born with wings to fly high above in a show of freedom, nor did she posses a horn to wield her tools or conjure magical spells. Peculiur even lacked the strength of an Earth pony, even the theorized plant growing magic failed to show.

Like, she killed an air plant! An AIR PLANT! You know, the ones that don’t need dirt to survive and only need to be watered once a week? Yeah, she killed it. The air plant got too dehydrated. It’s dead. She bought a second one and killed that one too, it died from being watered too much. Peculiur is a plant murderer.

It is speculated that the reason for Peculiur’s lack of magic is a result of having a very mixed family tree. Though, the only family members who’s existence she is aware of are her mother, father, her grandmother and grandfather from her mother’s side, and her grandmother from her dad’s side.

Her mom was a unicorn, typical mother; works as a part time seamstress and part time nanny, and her father was a mule who left to the zebra lands when she was only 5. He hasn’t been seen since. Probably dead or something. She couldn’t care less.

Grandfather from her mother’s side was a pegasus, and her grandmother was an earth pony.

Grandmother from her father’s side was an earth pony, grandfather was a mule. Which in hindsight makes Peculiur a hinny.

Anyways, with that much clashing of different genes from all three races, plus some, made her magically inept. Or so she was told.

You see, Peculiur never truly believed in the word impossible. She would always ask “why?”, why did Celestia need to raise the sun? Why did Luna have to raise the moon? Why did the pegasi have to manage the weather while the everfree managed itself? Why wasn’t an earth pony considered as special as a unicorn or pegasus?

She had questions, so logically she searched for answers. When something came up and questioned the limits of her capabilities, she sought to prove it wrong.

One of her greatest achievements was when she created something that would allow her to write and draw without having to use her mouth. (Indicated above)
