Nah, they are painted on top, then I added the white pen after they dried over night. A lot of people think they are digital. Even in person they look like they are just floating free from the canvas. Not sure if I would do that again. One of my friends thought it was overkill.

this is beautifully intense. so many radical colours and textures, and the overall impression is very dark, yet bursting with colour.. interesting piece, definitely!!
it looks somehow digital to me- i find it increasingly hard to distinguish between traditional and digital works these days.. prob has a lot to do with the blurring of these mediums through the digitisation of traditional art and increased capabilities of digital art creation programs..

No digital, save for the scan of it and some level adjustment in Photoshop to get it as close to reality as possible. I think what gives this piece that effect is the black and white lines and dots. The seem to float on the surface in a disconnected way. Truly this one is a transition from my old style to what I am doing now. Even if that was not my intention.
I run into that with digital, too, though. Thanks for checking it out.

you're right, i think it is the "floating" black and white on top of the lovely coloured background that gave me the impression of digital art. It's a very interesting effect, really cool to look at
it was my pleasure

Good combination of colours. It catches the eye and transmits a feeling of mistery. Like it a lot.

gives off a vibe of angst - so i guess it goes well with the title. it seems very emotional, well done.

Yes, it is. I need to write more of an explanation as to where my mind was while painting. Some day. Thanks for checking it out.

Oooooo, nice. I love the vivid red and the combination of gestural messy marks with little neat ones.
