Twilight Sparkle: Place book on scanning bay and close door. Press the begin scan button and wait until the ready button flashes...

*Spike enters the room*
Spike: Twilight, are you sure you will get paid for doing this?
Twilight Sparkle: Yeah! At 5 bits per book, in a few days I can make enough to buy a Kindle.
Spike: I liked the fake kidnap scheme better.

She got a fat government grant for her study of friendship.  Then she also gets paid small bonuses under the military budget as an element of harmony.  Which applies (all be smaller bonuses) to the other.  

This is what helped Fluttershy out as she was not doing so well before episode one.  She was labeled as probably an animal trainer but cause of her shy nature she did not get much work.  Her real income before was a meager stipend from the town that was part of government grants and funding.  Funding provided to pay for a animal expert for the town since it was so close to the Everfree Forest.  That and her participation in the Winter Wrap up, but that was not much.

Though after her successful and short modeling career.  She had more then enough money through wise investment and savings.  It was short but she put in a lot of work with very big companies.

Spike is actually paid two ways.  As a ward of the state.  He receives an allowance until he come of legal age.  Then that will stop, but he will most likely have a very cushy possession with Twilight.  He also gets paid as Twi's assistant.  Part of her grant is for a paid assistant.  While Twi could have picked a more experienced assistant. She chooses Spike out of loyalty.  As Spikes caretaker and guardian.  She has control over his money though.  So he actually sees little of it as she gives him access to only enough for light spending.  Putting the rest away for the future.

Pinkie on the other hand does not make any money as a baker (yet).  She bakes and works for the cakes in exchange for room and board.  Her spending money she makes from her real business as a party consultant and planner.  With the help of the Cakes who gave her the start up money.  She started her own business which she was able to pay back in a very short time as there were many parties and celebration in Ponyville.  She continues to take on jobs now and then, but the money she receives from being the Element of Laughter, her savings and that her room and board are being paid for from the little work she does as a baker and baby sitter for the cakes.  She is able to pretty much just kick back for a while and just have fun.  

Rainbow Dash actually got a very cushy job.  Thanks to her father who has a high position in the rainbow factory (snicker).  While she is a very hard worker when needed and proves to be a great leader of the weather team of Ponyville.  She is also lazy at time.  Were most Pegasus would have lost there jobs.  She is able to keep hers via her father as well as her new found title as the Element of Loyalty.  It looks good on paper when you employ on of the Elements of Harmony.  Very Good!  While Rainbow Dash is technically in charge.  There are a few other Pegasus the run the weather from behind the scenes.  There has to be with as many times as Dash is called away from her job.

So ya, if you read all that.  Thank you cause I could not stop.  I just started with a little thing but kept going.  Was going to do AJ and Rarity to but looked at the clock and realized what time it was.

This is a fun picture though.  I like the end.    There is one out there that shows AJ worrying about money problems and then Twi gets a letter from Celestia with a check for some huge amount for her monthly friendship studies.  It was pretty fun.

I wonder how fluttershy got an income before her modeling career since she doesn't seem to be a classified vet but takes care of animals...is it an animal shelter or something? Maybe...

Since celestia is the one that made her live in the library, wouldn't that mean she is a goverment employee, and gets paid a wage regardless of how many people rent books?

If anyone is mooching of her parents, it has to be rainbow dash . she took a simple job so she has more time to relax, but has anyone seen her house? it's epic .

But enough looking at the small details, i found it funny and thats what counts .

why was fluttershy's job "former model"? O_o...shouldn't it be something that has to do with animals? XD also, i think that it's odd how twi just instantly got to live in the treehouse as soon as she arrived in ponyville lol, but she probly gets money from helping princess celestia or something, since she is her number one student xP i like the comic though
