Description
DOWNLOAD FOR A .ZIP FILE CONTAINING MORE PHOTOS.Some may have noticed I've been slow with the art lately. As in none. There's been various reasons for that, that we're not going to cover here. Suffice it to say, I was thinking of what can I give, if not art? Stock. Or reference images really, since they're not posed too well for stock use. For anyone trying to draw guns, here's a reference of some short ones. Handguns mainly, it's a .zip download. Feel free to use them for anything you want as long as it's not commercial. If so, then contact me first. Anything else, go for it. I just ask that you link to this deviation, and lemme know, so I can see it. Need better shots of any of these particular guns? Let me know what angle you need it at etc. I'll see what I can do. And sorry the download is so large, I wanted to keep it decently hi-res.
P.S. Comments on this kind of thing are also appreciated if you use/download it. It helps me see what it's being used for, and how I can improve it's format to make it easier for you to use.

If I remember correctly, in order, a Taurus 92, A Nagant Model of 1895, A generic reproduction cap and ball pistol, both 4 and 5 are colt .32 police pistols, what they called the "2nd models", 6 is an unknown pocket pistol, all that I can find out is that it passed through Germany some time in the 40's, though that style of pistol is known as a 'bulldog' in England, 7 is a modern, semi-custom version of a colt 1911, and 8 is a Bersa Thunder pocket gun. Hope that helps

Oooh, this looks super-useful. I'm always so unhappy when I have to draw guns because I don't know anything about them. This should help. Thank you!

I'm currently starting a gun study (some sketches for practice) and these are amazing. I love how you have guns facing both left and right, it's very helpful.

You're welcome. I got tired of seeing guns in drawings that were "backwards" because people could only find references of one side. Nice to see someone getting some use out of them.

It's an M1911A1 Semi-automatic pistol with semi-custom additions of extended ambidextrous safeties, and extended slide stop. If you download the zip file (just click the download link to the left of the picture) It'll download a zip file containing more pictures, as well as a little info about each gun. It is a whopping big 20MB though. For more information, try this Wiki Article.

.22 will be lots of fun. ( I like shooting them more than about anything else actually) But it won't be quite like shooting the .45 caliber. People complain about kick, or recoil from a .45 but it's really not all that bad. The gun tends to 'flip' or rotate backwards in your hand. Just keep a steady grip on it, and it's no problem. With a .22 1911 though. hehe. Nothing to slow you down. That'll shoot nice.

yea, i have a .22 rifle my dad got it for me when i was like 10. and for me at my age a .45 would be killer to shoot-im not that strong so i probibly couldn't hold it steady...

Wow, awesome references! :>
The info on them is much appreciated too~
Although, I found it kind of hard to find the right gun I was looking for when I downloaded because it didn't seem like they were labeled...so yea. But I found the one I was looking for eventually ^ ^d

I was actually looking back through this the other day. Noting the horrible typos I had made and all. But feed back like this is what I need to make the next go at it better! So thanks!
And like I said, if you need anymore details/angles of any of them let me know.

Alrighty!
I would've mentioned that too, but I didn't think I needed to for this picture that I was working, LOL.
All I needed were sideviews and that was just what I found! :>

Oh, it's a generic replica. This one's a simple .32 caliber plinker. Percussion firearms ranged in use from the 1830's to the 1860's ish. I give a little more info on each firearm in the reference pack. Nothing too detailed though.
