Description
Tempera on canvas board :: 18x24cm :: the original work looks better, unfortunately my scanner focused too much on the texture of the paint...:: original colours are a bit more intensive (mainly the colours of the sky)Nowadays it so hot in my town that I cannot paint in watercolurs, because they dry too quickly. I really wanted to paint sth...so I took my temperas and..you can see the result. It's hard to tell what was the inspiration...I just imagined this mecha-thing and paint it while listening to MΓΊm

love the idea you put in this one, as well as the color

Nice result, the texture suits the mood. The concept seems nautical yet alien like structure, like some kind of remote satellite investigating new territory
I have the same problem with watercolours... it's so hot here in Spain at the moment they dry too fast before I can mix, and I have to rush it. Does Tempera dry more slowly?

I like your impression on my work, you are right...I think that I've mixed some space concepts with my interests for ocean creatures and the game "Riven"...hmm I must to rethink the title
Tempera is something like acrylics, but made in a special way (pigment mixed with water-soluble glutinous materials such as size and egg yolk) It definitely dries more slowly, it's not transparent paint.... I paint with it on canvas or canvas boards, but I have to try it out on cardboard

This evoques me some stranges machines and the architecture style from the videogames "Myst" ([link] ). I don't play many games, but this one I love it very much, and your painting reminds me this mysterious athmosphere!

I konw the game and I also like the style of it but I've only played "Riven - the sequel to Myst"...and propably this specific atmosphere of the game, hidden in my mind directed my hand to paint in such way
Nice to hear that you like this piece

Great atmosphere, and a very intriguing structure! I wonder what it could be...

Thank you a barnacle is a small sea creature living in shell like structure that can be often found on ship's hulls or on whales...the one that I've painted is a mecha and rather big surreal version
