I kinda thought of something like that where portal and half life happens in there universe, I the idea because when doing the community test chambers, there is actually a story behind it where you work for aperture science and you travel to alternate universes,
Anyways one of cave johnson's quotes in portal 2 when going to old aperture is this,
"Okay I have good news and bad news, the bad news is those who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I'm sorry to say we're postponing that one, the good news is you will be fighting an army of mantis-men",
However when I played one of the community test chambers, I heard cave johnson with a completely different voice that sounded very deep and it said "I have good news and bad news, the bad news is those who volunteered to be injected with homosapian DNA (pre-evolved humans), I'm sorry to say we're postponing that one, the good news is you will be fighting an army of man-mantises,"
He said it the other way around, which than gave me the idea of portal in another universe with anthro's
