I feel sad for you, because you can't have the EMR. I love my EMR to death. I worked hard in making it. I can't give it up, especially since it's essential to my cosplay.

You can make one you know. lol I made this one, and it may have taken a little bit of time but it's worth it. Pretty easy too.

Mine is not made out of metal. lol Metal weapons are not allowed at conventions, and to be honest I can't make crap out of metal. I can barely make anything now. Besides, you can't have that attitude! Change it around!
My EMR is made out of PVC pipe. I sanded it down and slide three different sized pipes into each other. The pipes are very cheap. Plus you'll have material left over when you are done. With a dash of some other cheap material you get what I made. Well, plus spray paint. Which makes it look metal.

It looks extremely long, and in fact it is too long. I re-made the sucker and shortened it. The new one is NOT so long. lol And thank you. I can't remember the measurements right not though. O__o

It does take some work at it, yes. lol My EMR method takes about a week. Depending on how many hours you want to, or are able to, put into it. Let's see....how to put it in a way that is short and still understandable....
Okay, so basically I used PVC pipe. It's sturdy, stiff, and holds up better than foam. I bought the 1 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1/2 inch pipes. You only need one of each; they are pretty long, and they only cost about 97 cents to 1 dollar apiece. Nothing too expensive. My length of the EMR that I felt appropriate or the proper length to my own body was 26 inches long. Basically I took the 1/2 inch pipe, cute it to 26 inches, and there was my basic length. Then I took my next biggest pipe, the 3/4 inch wide, and cut it 19 inches long. The 1 inch is cut into several smaller pieces, but we'll get to that later.
The pipes originally do not fit into each other, so I had to sand them down. This is a process most people do not want to do because it may take a while. Only a two days for me. But it does require patience. You sand down until the pieces slide into one another. Sanding down too much lets them slide right on through. You want it snug but not too snug you have to force it. So you'll be basically sanding the 1/2 and 3/4 inch pipes.
The 1 inch pipe, like I said, is cut into smaller pieces and not left as a whole pipe. I cut the base (what I call the bottom part of the EMR, lol) into six different sized pieces. It's kind of difficult to describe that part.....um. Well let's see, from the bottom up the sizes would be 1/2 inch, 4 inches, 2 1/2 inches, 1/2 inch, 4 inches, and 1 inch. You following so far? lol It's kind of confusing, and I am trying to make it as detailed as I can for you just in case you want to go this method.
I looked at Reno's EMR and seperated out the pieces along the other pipe according to how it looks in the movie and used E6000 (superglue) to hold the pipe in place. To make the pipe sturdier, I stuffed it with Model Magic in the middle pipe.
The top of the EMR should have a ring on it as well from the 3/4 pipe. Just a little one. Like not even a 1/2 inch.
I basically build the EMR first before spray painting it a metal gray. Then find something black, last time was black electrical tape (I am making a new EMR, lol), but this time I am going to try and use fake leather aka pleather, or something like that for the two handle parts. The 4 inch pieces.
Oh, and whatever you feel would make a good attachment point for the bottom part of the EMR is up to you. lol
This whole project cost me less than 10 bucks.
