Impressive.
I must say that you could add some tears to the blood. Freedom brings not only blood but pain and sorrow.
At last 'lone' means 'free'. You must fight for freedom and sometimes the price is too great.
But there ARE things that are free. Damn Marx dialectic approach is not very good indeed. Beauty of nature, artist's or scientist's inspiration, love - are really free.
Two people will never feel cold at night. It is for free.
'No hidden catch, no strings attached. Just free love' (c) Depeche Mode which I do not like very much...

Wow.
Just...wow.
Thanks so much. That has got to be one of the best comments I've ever read. I am so honored that it applies to one of my works. You do me such honor here. Thank you. ^_^
I rather thought when I created the piece, that the drops of blood were tears...tears of blood weeping from the sigal of peace and freedom...you so interpreted it correctly.

Thanks so much! It's always nice when an artist hears their work speaks to someone else.

Peace was always a result of war and as sad as it may sound, it rings true.

the point in your mind being..
my personal interpretation is that the cost of freedom, the freedom we and new citizens come's at a price. After 9/11 alone, I don't see anyone could disagree that our free comes at the least, at the price of our servicemen and women who have placed their lives on the line daily, to the innocent citizens who have lost their lives simply because they were American's visiting foreign countries. That alone I think justifies the price... But even then...looking at the history of our country...a country that proports freedom for all... look at all the bloodshed that has transpired. Antedim(I think I spelled it right) alone was the single worst battle of the entire civil war...and that was nothing but about freedom.
I gotta disagree with you kid...the price of the freedom we enjoy, the freedom that we try to help others in this world...comes at a very high price. Isn't anything free in this world...Freedom included.

each to his own.. personaly this is not my favriote topic... but the way i interpreteated it was the saying "if you want peace, prepair for war" which i believe in a perfect world, is bullshit... but whaterver.. i also have alot of other unpoupular believfs such as to stick up for another human being being put through pain is increadably illogical, but its the right moral action...
beliefs are just thoes.. beliefs

well...I have to say I agree with you on that. It is illogical to do that...but at the same time...I'd do it in a heartbeat. I just can't stand seeing the people around me hurting...even if their strangers. Do unto others...you know?
It's not a favorite subject of mine either. One of my best friends had her husband go over seas....and it was a misery for both of them. I'd never with that on anyone...let alone going somewhere to fight for people who...would much rather I were dead anyway...
...such a sticky subject. Good thoughts you have on it though.
